CamSwi^™- IoT enabled Smart Wi-Fi Motion Sensor, Camera and Switch

BEM^® CamSwi™ is a combination of two Smart IoT (Internet of Things) enabled devices: (1) Motion Sensor with Light Sensor, Camera and Flash and (2) Switch, all Wi-Fi based and packaged in a single housing, that can be monitored and controlled, respectively, remotely within the Wi-Fi range or with internet connectivity even beyond (from any part of the world!). Image captured by the Camera gets automatically dispatched through email.

BEM^® CamSwi^™ can work as a smart alarm sensor. Its highly responsive motion-sensitive pyroelectric sensor can detect changes in an environment particularly movement. If a door opens or someone walks by, for instance, the sensor will signal the camera to capture an image and an alarm to go ON, or send you a Notification or give you a call, to let you know of the activity. The image captured by the camera gets automatically attached and dispatched with an email. This ensures that your home and loved ones stay safe even when you are not physically there to protect them yourself. The BEM^® CamSwi^™ provides privacy, security, and peace of mind.

The CamSwi™ is designed to operate in three different modes depending on the availability of a Wi-Fi router with an internet connection near the installation point and an Android smartphone with the user :

1. Standalone Mode: Users not having a smartphone, router or internet, can operate the CamSwi™ as a standalone device with minimal features.
2. Local Wi-Fi Mode: Users not having a router can use their smartphone to operate and monitor the CamSwi™ from within its Wi-Fi range.
3. World-Wide Internet Mode: The features of CamSwi™ can be best tapped if a User has a Wi-Fi router with internet connectivity and an Android smartphone with the suggested free Apps installed. For operation beyond the Wi-Fi router’s antenna range, CamSwi™ is designed to connect with Adafruit IO’s MQTT Broker (Server) through the internet.

In the local Wi-Fi mode and the World-Wide Internet modes, the Sensor and the Switch could be configured to operate independently or they could be linked together. In the de-linked mode the switch can be used to remotely operate any electrical appliance at home even when you are out of town.
